40 years of long dedicated research and work

My 38 Chevrolet is finally coming all together. It's indeed a miracle after all these 40 years of faithfully searching junk yards, swap meets, and classified ads for parts, knowing that someday, sometime, my car would be in it's original glory as it was in 1938. The painter has finished his work, the machine shop has built the engine, the rear axle and transmission has been refurbished, parts have been sanded and painted, stainless steel has been super polished, the wiring is all new, window glass has been replaced with up-to-date glass, and the upholstery is in its finish stages. The car is in the original state it was in 1938. I get teary eyed thinking about it. It's been long, it's been hard, fingers have been cut, and some parts have been restored over because I restored them 20 years ago. Sometimes I thought I would never meet the goal, it was just too hard. But today the goal has almost been met and soon I get to drive it all around town. It's absolutely amazing to know that I own a piece of history from 1938, three years prior to WWII!
